Mercifully Small Portion of the Louvre in Atlanta
From this Saturday through September 2009, Atlanta's High Museum is hosting collections on loan from the Louvre. This lending of stuff has been called an unprecedented partnership -- and a comparatively convenient way to see Louvre masterpieces without squeezing in with 7,000,000 other tourists for a quarter-mile jaunt down the Grand Gallery. At any given time, even the ginormous, overwhelming Louvre is only displaying about 10% of its collection.

The High is having a full day of Frenchified activities on Saturday, including a poodle parade, presented by Barry Bourgeois of Canine House of Style.
